John Frusciante’s music moves between intensity, introspection and an unusually exposed sense of vulnerability. In this original mixed-media portrait, I build the face through broken lines, layered colour and visible traces of the drawing process rather than a clean promotional likeness. The unstable surface reflects the tension between public performance and private inwardness that makes his presence within and beyond Red Hot Chili Peppers so distinctive. Created in Istanbul, the work belongs to my ongoing series of musicians and cultural figures interpreted through a grotesque, expressive and underground visual language.
