Michel Foucault portrait illustration by İlker Ortaç.
Michel Foucault’s work examines how power enters institutions, knowledge, language and the body itself. In this original mixed-media portrait, I translate that critical presence into sharp contours, exposed marks and an intentionally fractured surface. The image avoids the neutrality of an academic portrait and instead treats Foucault as a figure shaped by tension between visibility and control, discipline and resistance. Created in Istanbul, the work belongs to my ongoing series of writers, philosophers, filmmakers and musicians whose ideas continue to influence my artistic and political imagination. Original Michel Foucault portrait illustration by İlker Ortaç, an Istanbul-based writer, illustrator and visual artist.
