Kurt Vonnegut’s writing combines dark humour, political unease and a deep suspicion of systems that reduce human beings to numbers. In this original mixed-media portrait, I approach his familiar face through exposed lines, distorted features and an intentionally unstable surface. The drawing is less concerned with photographic likeness than with the tension between wit, melancholy and resistance that runs through his work. Created in Istanbul, it belongs to my ongoing series of writers, musicians, filmmakers and thinkers interpreted through a grotesque and underground visual language.
