Jim Jarmusch portrait illustration by İlker Ortaç.
Jim Jarmusch’s cinema finds poetry in outsiders, dead time, music and the strange rhythms of ordinary life. In this original mixed-media portrait, I translate that quiet, independent sensibility through loose contours, restrained colour and visible drawing marks rather than a polished filmmaker portrait. The face remains distant and slightly fragmented, echoing characters who drift between cities, languages and identities. Created in Istanbul, the work belongs to my continuing series of filmmakers, musicians, writers and thinkers interpreted through a grotesque and underground visual language. Original Jim Jarmusch portrait illustration by İlker Ortaç, an Istanbul-based writer, illustrator and visual artist.
