Ernest Hemingway’s public image is built around restraint, conflict and the mythology of the solitary writer. In this original mixed-media portrait, I use rough lines, dense shadows and unsettled colour to move beyond that familiar pose and expose a more fragile psychological presence. The work is not intended as a photographic likeness; it interprets Hemingway through the same grotesque and expressive visual language that connects my portraits of writers, musicians and filmmakers. Created in Istanbul, the drawing belongs to an ongoing series about cultural figures whose lives and work continue to shape collective imagination.
