Elton John’s visual identity joins theatrical performance, flamboyant costume and a songwriting career recognized across generations. This original mixed-media portrait translates that vivid public presence into expressive lines, layered colour and distorted features rather than a conventional celebrity likeness. I wanted the image to hold spectacle and vulnerability together, treating the face as both performer and emotional surface. Created in Istanbul, the work forms part of my ongoing portrait series of musicians, filmmakers, writers and artists who reshaped popular culture.
