Bob Marley’s image carries music, resistance and spiritual force across generations. This original mixed-media portrait approaches that familiar face through raw drawing, fractured colour and visible marks, moving away from a smooth commemorative likeness. I wanted the image to hold both the warmth of Marley’s presence and the political weight that surrounds his cultural legacy. Created in Istanbul, the work belongs to my ongoing series of musicians, filmmakers, writers and thinkers interpreted through a personal grotesque and underground visual language. Original Bob Marley portrait illustration by İlker Ortaç, an Istanbul-based writer, illustrator and visual artist.
